Kang Seung-Mi

An Soon-Tae
Abstract
This study aims to explore the effects of perceived threat toward mental health on the intention for using a mobile mental health application. A total of 228 men and women participated in the online survey. Results confirmed the mediating role of e-Health literacy between perceived threat toward mental health and the level of intention to use a mobile mental health application. That is, a higher perceived threat led to higher levels of e-Health literacy, which resulted in higher levels of intention for using a mobile mental health application. Furthermore, the moderating role of attitudes toward mental health service was found. The effect of e-Health literacy was stronger for those with negative attitudes to mental health service than those with positive attitudes to mental health service. This study highlights on the important role of e-Health literacy for promoting the use of mobile mental health application and mental health.
